The Center for Informatics and Computational Science provides several opportunities for faculty and student involvement as a means to raise the profile of predictive modeling research at Notre Dame:
Faculty with interdisciplinary research at the interface of computational mathematics and statistics, information sciences, and scientific computational modeling are encouraged to become a member of the CICS. Members can actively participate in all aspects of the research, education, and outreach activities of the Center.
In collaboration with several departments, the CICS is exploring the integration of interdisciplinary courses that bridge the gap at better understanding the role of uncertainty in science and engineering practices. There are several forthcoming graduate education opportunities supported by the CICS.
To support its mission, the CICS provides growing technical and administrative support for faculty teams to pursue grand challenge applications where predictability and uncertainties play a key role. When available, the Center will post openings for positions.
The CICS offers a wide range of activities to which gifts may be directed, such as innovative faculty research, graduate fellowships, undergraduate research experiences, and more.
